Dear RD Endo-san,
It gives me immense happiness to send greetings to you and all the Club Members in your Region on behalf of the Y’s Men International. I appreciate your service and dedication as Regional Director during the year and I am sure that your had pleasant experience in this important leadership position in the Movement.
At the international level, we have just launched Challenge 22, an invitation to all members and leaders of our organisation to be part of a historic process to reignite the spirit of Y’s Men and make our association stronger and relevant for the present and future generations. Challenge 22 is formulated to achieve our common goal of bringing together 50,000 club members in 100 countries by 2022, while striving together in fellowship for a better world by offering service to the YMCA and communities worldwide. Within this context you will celebrate your Regional Convention; another exciting gathering in our Movement because it brings together members from many clubs. In addition to fun and fellowship, use this opportunity for personal spiritual strengthening in order to better equip club members to promote the development of Y’s Men in your communities.
We look forward to welcoming many club members from your Region at the next International Convention right in the heart of Odense, Denmark in 2020. The 74th Y’s Men International Convention will be held from 13-16 August 2020 with the 18th International Youth Convention running from 10-16 August 2020. I hope to see you all in Odense!
As we approach the 100th anniversary of our organisation, it is essential that we preserve our legacy and share our work with the world. All Regions are requested to prepare and send reports from the year 2018-19, documenting your key achievements. I look forward to reading your stories and seeing your photographs outlining the successes you have accomplished this year.
I am sure that the Regional Convention will create space and opportunities to unleash the power of the clubs with full of energy, motivation and new ideas to achieve our collective goal. I wish the Convention much success.
